Regrowth
by Sergio Nelli

Tunué, 2018
117 pages
15×21 cm

An exploration on crisis, reaction and the complex relationship that links us to other humans and to nature.

Rebirth is a complex act: in one of the most important hybrid novels of the last twenty years, Nelli tells us about how to get out of a deep crisis. The relationship with his son, the changing of seasons, work, his birthplace, the cosmic motions, ghosts and angels, anything can become part of this rebuilding. With a language that breaks the page into a philosophical and a lyrical path, Regrowth investigates the relationship between man and nature to which we owe, at the same time, everything and nothing.

Regrowth was first published in 2004 by Bollati Boringhieri. Tunué’s second edition meant to give Nelli its rightful place among the most interesting Italian contemporary writers.

«Nelli tells the tale of a regrowth similar to that of the branches of a tree, which knows no cultural shortcuts, but carries within itself all the psychophysical weight of a man, keeping together body and mind, nature and culture.»
Chiara Daina, Il Fatto Quotidiano
