A tale that drives inspiration from Dungeons & Dragons and the Dune cycle.
Talib is a poor knob shiner at the Babilonian court. Young, gentle and with a noble heart, he falls in love with the king’s daughter, as in a typical fable’s plot. The king has established that only the one who will bring his daughter a diamond as big as a bull’s head will be able to marry her.
Talib then sets on a quest to find the jewel, making many bizarre encounters in a world made of four concentric spheres (Fire, Earth, Sky, Heavens): he joins with Miralem, a racist taxman; he meets Nizar, a monk who stands against Desire; he bargains with the Dragon of the swamps, visits a City with asparagus-shaped pinnacles, reaches the Moon to find a vial of shadow, witnesses the show of the world’s slowest circus, and finds himself hung up on a cloud. His voyage started because of love, but is now propelled by the curiosity to see the world’s wonders.
